"The president is also expected to take action over the next few days to temporarily ban immigration from Muslim countries deemed a 'threat to national security' - namely Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia."My only gripe with this is, why are Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Pakistan not included? But what a refreshing sight it is to see an elected representative making good on their campaign promises. This is a very positive move that I think even the most ardent mass-immigration, pro-multicultural advocates will find difficult to criticise (though I am sure they will pull out all the mental gymnastics to try). Like it or not, we [the West] are at war with militant Islam, and militant Islam is at war with us. The countries cited here are well known for harbouring significant numbers of people who are utterly hostile towards Western civilisation and have made it very clear that they mean to do us harm. Yes, I know they are not all like that, but we simply do not have the capability to vet and filter out the good from the bad. From a purely pragmatic point of view, allowing migration from these nations as they currently stand, is an unacceptable risk and something every Western nation should have put a stop to years ago.
Willingly allowing hostile cultures and ideological enemies into your own lands is insanity and something unprecedented in history. We did not allow immigrants from the Axis Powers in World War Two for very good reason. All it achieves in the long term is the establishment of a fifth column ready to wreck havoc inside our walls. We are beginning to see the fruits of this here in Europe and the recent terrorist atrocities in France, Germany, Belgium, the Muslim sex attacks in Cologne, Northern England and Sweden etc are just the start. Our feckless governments, egged on by clueless, champagne socialists and liberal idealists, have brought a ticking time bomb into our countries, and it is going to be very, very difficult to reverse. America still has a chance to prevent this in their own borders and it would appear that President Trump is take the necessary steps to do just that.
